Just in time for Valentine’s Day! This little bear is full of love and sentimental meaning.
I designed this pattern when my husband’s sweet aunt passed away. My mother-in-law asked if I could make a keepsake out of her sister’s old jean jacket, complete with sequence and rhinestones. I made one bear for each of her children to remember her by, as featured in the images above. This bear is a great keepsake item to make out of old jeans or jean jackets, especially if there is an article of clothing from someone you love that has sentimental value and you don’t want to just throw it away.
It is a simple sewing pattern, that has the option to be hand or machine sewn, and includes several high definition photos for the adventurous beginner to follow, as well as 2 video tutorials that can be found on my YouTube channel (@picknknit) for the optional hand sewing stitches used within the pattern.
Size:
Head to toe: 8” (20cm)
Materials:
1/4 yd (1/4 m) of denim fabric (Tip: use old jeans, with legs at least 7” wide and 9” long).
2” x 2.5” (5cm x 6.5cm) tan cotton fabric or felt for the muzzle
3” x 3.5” (8cm x 9cm) patterned cotton fabric or felt for the belly
1” x 1.5” (2.5cm x 4cm) red or pink cotton fabric or felt for the heart
Small amount of interfacing for muzzle, belly, and heart
21mm (0.83”) safety nose for stuffed animal making, or a small piece of black felt
9mm (0.35”) black safety eyes
Coordinating all-purpose sewing thread to match each fabric, or embroidery floss if hand sewing
Batting for stuffing
Black embroidery thread (optional for eyelashes)
